- Installing a USR Sporster on a Presario 924 has also been interesting.
- I finally ended up assigning something like IRQ9 to the sound card,
- and making the new moden port 3. What is handy, tho, is that I now
- have two modems in this thing, which was useful while trying to get
- info online to set up the USR. The login.cmd string that by far works
- best is the simple &cl&k3 l1 that I was using in the original AT&T
- modem that came with the Compac. Still some bugs left, like hanging up
- mid-stream, but I'm getting there. I agree, Compac didn't make things
- easy, and I won't replace this one with another Compac just because of
- all the problems the proprietory nature of the beast has given me.
